About the Job 

Due to the growth of our Waikato Team, we are in search of an Operations Coordinator. Responsible for the onsite operations, technical support, and training of the Waikato Construction division, to ensure a positive culture of success, professionalism, people development, quality, and construction best practices. 

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain a culture of success
  • Oversee professional development of staff within the construction team, with emphasis on constructions apprentices 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to Store staff
  • Coordinate and manage labour resources across Calder Stewart sites 
  • Steer compliance with Health and Safety policies and practices across the branch
  • Ensure workforce planning is conducted in conjunction with HR

Skills & Experience You Will Need

Our ideal candidate is a trade-qualified carpenter who has been working at a Foreman or higher level in construction for 5+ years. 

  • Need to be able to demonstrate networking with various training providers and      others
  • Experience or knowledge of a variety of building and construction techniques
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and continually motivate the team
  • Knowledge of construction methods and techniques, materials, and applications
  • High level of computer literacy, especially MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (together with an interest in further developing computer skills)
  • Extensive client network in the Waikato market with business development and pipeline growth skills
  • A qualification relevant to the construction industry or a related discipline
  • Experience in project and contract management including the design and implementation of projects
  • Strong leadership capabilities
