This property-led solution for TopmaQ showcases another unique way we can work with a client to deliver an efficient property outcome.
As a long-term client, TopmaQ required a property solution to consolidate their two existing premises into a single facility. Early in the negotiation, we had the opportunity to work with TopmaQ to provide a financial solution which sped up the delivery of the new premises and produced many design efficiencies.
The challenge in sourcing a new site for TopmaQ was to develop an efficient property solution that maximized storage volumes while balancing safety in design features. Due to their specialist role as a collection facility, care was taken to separate their staff and visitors from the site’s operational areas.
From an investment point of view, TopmaQ were interested in owning the property, seeing it as a strong investment for their future. We proposed a site within our land portfolio near Christchurch Airport that suited their needs and set about the Design Build process.
The early collaboration between the TopmaQ and Calder Stewart teams meant we could achieve both TopmaQ’s operational and investment outcomes.
The delivery of the TopmaQ property showcases how our property team can provide benefits to a client with our early engagement process. With the new site now the main distribution centre for TopmaQ’s South Island operations, we look forward to working together on future property and construction projects.
