As a leader in transport and logistics, Bascik needed a purpose-built facility to support their expanding lower South Island operations.

Led by Calder Stewart’s Property team, the project took a Design Build approach, ensuring site efficiency, structural durability, and brand consistency. From ground improvements to final construction, every step was carefully planned to optimise operational flow and longevity.

Given the high-traffic nature of transport hubs, the site’s foundation strength was a key focus from the outset. Calder Stewart worked closely with Bascik Transport to address:

  • Groundworks and stabilisation – Strengthening the site was crucial to ensure it could handle heavy transport activity for years to come
  • Designed for high-volume logistics – Bascik’s transport operations required a flexible and efficient facility layout, tailored to their specific brief
  • Brand alignment – The facility needed to reflect Bascik Transport’s strong identity, while integrating functional features to support operations

A collaborative design process allowed Calder Stewart to incorporate Bascik’s operational requirements into a high-performance warehouse facility. The result is a functional, durable, and visually striking transport hub.

“Working with the Bascik team always brings out the best from our team, as we know their expectations are high. Delivering leading transport services is their business, and we’re here to ensure they have the quality facilities to support that.”

- Morgan Keen, Commercial Manager.

A transport hub with form and function

The completed facility includes:

  • 3,400m² Warehouse – Designed for high-traffic freight handling and efficient logistics management.
  • 6m double-wide doors – Built to support the fast-moving nature of Bascik’s transport operations.
  • Truck wash bay – Ensuring the fleet remains professional looking
  • Signature red cladding – A bold reinforcement of Bascik Transport’s brand

The Design Build model provided the flexibility to create a tailored solution, ensuring both practical functionality and brand consistency. This project is another example of how Calder Stewart’s this approach delivers customised, future-ready facilities for New Zealand’s leading transport providers.
