Adding to our long-term and enduring relationship with Bascik Transport, this new build for their Auckland hub extends the warehouse for their transport and logistics fleet.
Our long-term relationship with Bascik Transport originated in the South Island, although this particular build is located at one of their Auckland hubs. The new project would facilitate smoother North Island operations for the client and better use the existing landholdings set up by our property team.
The build was broken down into two phases. The first was the extension of their warehouse and the construction of a new canopy to enhance the unloading and loading of their fleet of trucks. The second called for constructing a two-tenant commercial building on existing land.
The canopy was a bit out of the ordinary, specified as a free-standing structure measuring 42m wide, 35m deep, and 12m high, covering an area of over 1,400m². Translucent clear roofing was used to finish the canopy's structure, allowing maximum light into the work area below. To complement the canopy's new logistics, an adjacent concrete yard was also poured.
Although we're known as an enterprise builder at Calder Stewart, we're also mindful of the business relationships we create with our various clients. This project showcased our ability to make site remediations and enhancements, as a trusted building partner.
