This Auckland upgrade enhances the logistical operations of the client by extending the height of their warehouse and adding a new canopy area.
Calder Stewart has enjoyed a growing business relationship with Goodman, who develops, owns and manages high-quality industrial property in Auckland. We were tasked with expanding and enhancing a property they owned on Highbrook Drive in East Tamaki for this project. The property is currently leased out to their tenant, Move Logistics.
The upgrade aimed to enhance their client's logistics operations, which saw growth and needed more room to conduct business. For us, this tendered project included two mandates; the first to construct an extension to an existing full rack height warehouse and the second, to build an expansive canopy. The canopy facilitates Move Logistics' ongoing truck operations, which work parallel with the business's growing pace.
Over both the extension and canopy, our construction team were required to 'splice into' existing steel frame infrastructure, a feat that presented unique challenges from the beginning. Fortunately, our team has extensive experience in this area, having undertaken similar projects in the South Island.
This venture was more than meets the eye since it entailed conducting construction alongside the client's day-to-day operations. Careful planning and building programme protocols had to be agreed upon, along with bringing essential engineering expertise to the table.
