Responding to the growing demand of the dairy export market, Westland Milk Products sought to expand its operations with a 17,000m2 dry store. Our Design Build solution was just the ticket for such a project, using our tested methods for large-scale agricultural builds.

Distinct features of the project include a rail siding that directly influenced the floor's design. The main structure comprises large, post-tensioned slabs, with the floor following a 1:400 slope to match the siding's gradient. Meanwhile, office exteriors used exposed aggregate panels supplied by our precast concrete division.

Overall, Westland in Rolleston was a large industrial project for the company, although reasonably typical for Calder Stewart builds, measuring 160m long and 106m wide.
