This 30,000m² expansion includes 22,600m² of dry store, a 4,000m² environmental load-out area and a set of service buildings.
Synlait’s dairy expansion called for a complete building programme, typical of international dry store sites. The construction of the large 22,600m2 dry store, a 4,000m2 environmental load-out area, and a set of service buildings were implemented to augment operations at the client’s processing facility in Canterbury. Based on our competitive price and growing reputation as a warehouse construction specialist, we were able to tender for the project’s Design Build solution successfully.
Efficiency was the driving force behind the design of the main build, with structural supports planned around pallet stacking dimensions. Specialised rapid rise doors were also imported from Europe to cut down on loading times. During the project, we adopted an accelerated schedule was adopted during the project, which cut a month and a half off of project delivery. We met this new requirement by tapping into an additional workforce, delivering the finished build well within the scheduled timeframe.
