Proving ourselves through soil contamination, unfavourable weather and aftershocks, this 3,800m² build has led to an ongoing relationship with Woolworths New Zealand.
Woolworths New Zealand owns and operates over 200 supermarkets and is the country’s largest private-sector employer. After hearing about the proposal for a new Countdown Supermarket in Rangiora, we approached them on a tender basis, which we won.
A solid and cooperative working relationship with Woolworths New Zealand led to this project’s success, collaborating to help overcome logistical issues. In particular, the soil quality had become less than ideal, with the site’s previous occupants causing ground contamination before Woolworths were able to move in. Unfavourable weather conditions and occasional earthquake aftershocks also proved challenging during the build. However, we accommodated these issues in our on-site planning, and the project moved forward to meet our client’s project delivery expectations.
Sleek, bold and impressive, with its covered footpath and strong architectural character, the project is a perfect example of our can-do approach in meeting client requirements. The success of this project has led to an ongoing relationship with Woolworths New Zealand.
