At 3,020m² this recycling centre includes multiple storage areas, operational offices, and covered sections for offloading and uploading of processed output.
National recycler EnviroWaste was looking for a new facility to serve the New Plymouth area better. Since we had completed similar Design Build work for them in the past, we were able to submit a design we knew they’d be interested in, driven by practicality and budgetary requirements.
The project’s specifications included a main recycling centre section, along with storage areas and offices to support operations. A large covered section was included to support the offloading of raw recyclables and uploading processed and sorted output further up the industrial supply chain.
Even in the face of truly severe weather conditions, critical areas of construction were kept on track, ready for handover to the specialist plant installer. This operations handling took a central role in handing over the purpose-built facility according to schedule. As one of the first projects handled entirely by our North Island construction team, the build came off as a complete success, further cementing the Calder Stewart name nationwide.
