This project was a new site build at 3,900m², offering 1,700m² for pump fabrication equipment, a large inventory, and 400m² for office spacing, with a further 1,800m² available for lease.
Formerly located in Christchurch's CBD Brown Brothers Engineering, well known for the fabrication and servicing of a unique brand of pneumatic pumps, had sustained damage to its premises after the 2011 earthquake. With several structural issues onsite, they decided to start afresh and find a new location elsewhere.
Our property team proposed a Design Build solution, suggesting a new purpose-built facility on our Hornby Quadrant development outside Christchurch. The proposal's details included a lease option, which allowed the facility to be custom-built around the client's needs whilst leaving 1,500m² of warehouse and 300m² of office space available for lease to other parties in the future. The project also added a 1,700m² workshop to house the company's pump fabrication equipment and large inventory.
This project is accented by a two-level office section, which houses 400m² of administrative offices and a conference room upstairs, overlooking the industrial park outside. Overall, the new site is an attractive build, adding many more options down the road for Brown Brothers Engineering.
