This state-of-the-art incubation and hatchery, at 3,600m², combines steel, reinforcing and precast concrete, all sourced from our internal supply chain.
Tegel Foods, one of NZ’s leading suppliers of chicken products, had initially sought to expand and modernise its supply capabilities with a state-of-the-art incubation and hatchery facility. After thorough planning and global research, Tegel partnered with us for a property and Design Build solution package.
We helped Tegel find a suitable site, suggesting land in our Hornby Quadrant for the development. Following this, we presented them with a Design Build solution, and the client came away impressed enough with our strategy to gain the oversight of the entire process, from design through to construction. At stages, there were over 100 people from a wide variety of specialist trades working on the project, with us heading up key project management and scheduling roles alongside the Tegel team.
From concept to completion, we delivered this project in under 12 months. Such a fast turnaround is down to our unique vertically integrated supply chain, capable of handling the delivery of building material supply in-house via our steel, reinforcing and precast concrete capabilities. As such, much of the project’s high-tech plant had to be imported from Belgium and France, making it the first hatchery of its kind in Australasia.
