This 4,600m² facility provides 4,000m² of warehousing, with an extra-wide entrance and exit point for trucks, whilst 600m² is reserved for a trade shop and office complex out-front.
Steel & Tube are tenants of Dunedin-based Chalmers Properties, an organisation with which we have had a long-standing working relationship. Their most recent build on Dunedin’s industrial waterfront section was conceived around the expanding needs of Steel & Tube, who had outgrown the capacity of the nearby facilities.
The new home for the national steel products supplier includes an amply spaced 4,000m2 warehouse section. High studs were added to accommodate the eight-tonne gantry cranes used in daily operations, along with extra-wide entrance and exit points for multiple delivery trucks. A 600m2 trade shop and office complex at the front was designed to add additional space, servicing the business’s needs well into the future.
This project is topped off with an eye-catching I-Beam sculpture accenting the public entrance. As a whole, this project reflects our thoroughly practical Design Build philosophy, allowing for extra architectural flair where needed.
